GEORGE BARNA

George Barna is the Executive Director of the American Culture and Faith Institute (a division of United in Purpose). He founded the Barna Research Group in 1984 (now The Barna Group) and has been President of Metaformation, a faith development organization, since 2009. He has served several hundred parachurch ministries, thousands of Christian churches, and many other non-profit and for-profit organizations as well as the U.S. military. He has also been a pollster in three presidential campaigns. Barna has written more than 50 books, mostly addressing cultural trends, leadership, spiritual development, and church dynamics. They include New York Times bestsellers and several award-winning books. He has sold more books based on survey research related to matters of faith than any author in American history. After graduating summa cum laude from Boston College, Barna earned two Master’s degrees from Rutgers University and has a doctorate from Dallas Baptist University. He attends Mission Church in Ventura.

 

TERRY GORKA

Terry Gorka is a Research Analyst with the American Culture & Faith Institute. His responsibilities include media relations, research management and data analysis, website administration, and database supervision. Prior to serving ACFI, Terry owned several businesses and worked in the market research industry. He attended Chapman University where he was an honors student. He is an active member of South Coast Fellowship Church in Ventura, CA.

 

REID RUTHERFORD

Reid Rutherford has more than 34 years of business management, finance and venture capital experience. His signature has been combining new technologies with innovative financing structures to serve unmet needs, and he has founded several successful Silicon Valley finance and technology companies.   Reid is a knowledgeable and creative problem-solver who crosses the t’s, dots the i’s, and oversees the big picture.  He received an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in Palo Alto, Calif. and a BA in Religion and Philosophy from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

 

TRICIA BURKMAN

Tricia Burkman is a Data Specialist for the American Culture & Faith Institute (ACFI), the research division of United in Purpose. At ACFI she prepares and tabulates the data from the company’s public opinion surveys, providing the data for analysis. Prior to joining ACFI she worked in the insurance industry for 14 years. Tricia has a degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management, and has worked as an Event Planner for a luxury hotel. Tricia and her husband of 18 years have four children and live in northern Wisconsin, where she enjoys being involved in the community and volunteering at her children’s sports activities.

 

KALEIGH MORRIS

Kaleigh Morris is the Brand Manager and Partner Relations Manager for the American Culture & Faith Institute (ACFI). Her role is to increase awareness of ACFI and to engage partner organizations in ACFI’s ongoing research projects. Prior to working with ACFI, Kaleigh was a Project Manager for United in Purpose. She has also worked as a buyer in the hardware and farming industries. Kaleigh and her husband of 5 years live in Northeast Ohio where they enjoy gardening, hunting and rescuing animals.
